Coffee Morning and Helping Hands Charity

Sixth Class have had a great start to their academic year. We really enjoyed taking part in our first coffee morning, where we made €500 for Helping Hands. After the coffee morning, we ordered lots of food from Tesco. We chose non perishable items such as rice, pasta, jars of sauces and, of course, some chocolate. We then walked up to Helping Hands in Edenmore where we could stock out the shelves. It was really special to be involved in the whole process. We hope to raise money for another charity in January.

Singing Schools with Tomos

Sixth Class have enjoyed working with Tomos Watkins over the past few weeks. We are taking part in a Singing Schools programme with Christ Church Cathedral until Easter 2024. The aim of these workshops is to increase the students’ confidence in singing, teach them a variety of new songs and help them develop transferable skills like teamwork and communication. We look forward to seeing what we can achieve over the coming months!

Mé Féin

This month, Sixth Class have been learning all of the vocabulary and phrases associated with Mé Féin. They will get a copy of the phrases at the start of the month, and they will learn two phrases a week for homework. Here is September’s phrase sheet. These phrases are super important for speaking as Gaeilge. I have been really impressed with the effort Sixth Class have made so far!
